Last weekend, we were so fortunate to have yet another perfect celebration for our baby boy. Our sweet friends, Jared and Heather Ede, truly outdid themselves with a fabulous and fun tailgate party couple's shower for some of our family and close friends. May I just say that when we moved to Harlingen we could have never imagined being blessed by such a wonderful friendship so quickly, but we are beyond thankful for Jared and Heather and don't know what we would do without them. We not only have so much fun hanging out with them, but are so very appreciative of all they have done to help us feel right at home in Harlingen. They are absolutely amazing people with the biggest hearts, and we are so glad to be able to spend time with them, especially as we await the arrival of our little man. Just as a side note- we decided that the phrase "it's a small world" was truly defined by us when Heather and I made the connection that not only did we cheer on the same football field in high school (different sides of course--her for Jim Ned and me for Brady), but we also share some mutual family friends that date back to my dad's high school days. As if that weren't enough, we also happen to both be coaches' daughters, which clearly gives us an incredible amount of things in common when it comes to our upbringing and outlook on life. :)
Dad, aka Pops, was a little concerned about the idea of attending his grandson's baby shower, as clearly that is not typical behavior of manly men, so we were very careful to refer to the celebration as a tailgate party for the weeks leading up to it. Haha! I think it's safe to say that Pops enjoyed his tailgate party experience, as displayed by the most genuine smile I think he's ever shown in pictures without putting up a fight. We all had a blast celebrating Hayes and the anticipation continues to grow as we await his arrival!

Love this pic of Mom and Dad. There's that smile I was talking about!
Lanna and Ty were so sweet to make the trip from Houston!
We were so excited to see Cousin Addie and Aunt Katie, too!
Ty and Lanna hooked Hayes up with his first pair of cowboy boots and an authentic Texas onesie. Talk about an official Texan-- he's all set!
Dad gave Hayes his first Red Sox ensembles. Can't wait to put him in his World Series Champ onesies!
Heather's mom made Hayes the most special quilt. It is absolutely perfect in his nursery and we can't wait to snuggle him in it!
Thank you to everyone who helped make our second shower celebration absolutely wonderful. We love you all!
